Nest - hot water icon disappeared

Rachaeljenny

Hi, after resting my nest thermostats (due to new nest being added after building work) the hot water icon has disappeared.

I have rest all to factory setting, reconnected to home network. I’ve also tired following advice on platform to go to equipment, looking for it to turn on. The only options I am given are heat/combo boiler. It doesn’t provide a water option.

the water icon has also disappeared from the control device as well as the app.
Any suggestions for resolving.  Thanks

You can try this......

Settings - Equipment - Pro Setup - System Boiler - then make sure the water control is set to on/off

The usual problem is the on/off is not checked and that part says not connected if you dont..

Give it a try

 Hi there, @Rachaeljenny

Thanks for reaching out, and many thanks @Frustratedddd for assisting.

In order to be able to have the Hot Water icon on, you'll have to make sure the system is configured to ON/OFF, system boiler

You can learn more about it here: https://bit.ly/3fPAJas

Thanks @DragosC  and @Frustratedddd

I tired both of these suggestions And no joy. The boiler is configured to On/Off and still the only option given is heating no water symbol.
any other suggestions gladly received.
thanks

@Rachaeljenny, is the thermostat set to System boiler? Could you provide me please with a picture of what you're seeing in there?

Looks like the answer to that is yes, as both suggestions failed!!

The main thing you have to check is that when you look at the section where is says ''Connected'', you change to on/off, but make sure you click the on/off to confirm. Otherwise it looks as though you have on/off but it's not confrimed.

HI All and particularlly @DragosC  and @Frustratedddd

I went back through your suggestions and have solved the problem.  I had it on Combi Boiler (which it is) but needed to reset to 'System Boiler' then have the On/Off set to On.

It is confusing as even though it is a Combi Boiler, with the hot water and a tank, it needs to be set on System boiler to pick up the hot water.

Thank you very much for the tips and helping solve it.
