My Nest thermostat changes to 85 degrees and this temp setting is not in the schedule. I believe the device is defective, and I need a replacement.

Hi Mailtokraus,
Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat is displaying a temperature setting of 85 degrees fahrenheit that is not part of your schedule or desired settings. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have? The Nest thermostats can learn your daily routine and automatically create a temperature schedule for you. If you prefer to disable learning and have your thermostat follow a fixed temperature schedule, you can turn Auto-Schedule off. That way the schedule won't change unless you make manual changes to it. You can disable learning for the temperature schedule by following this guide.
Let us know how it goes.
Best,
Zoe
