Nest is cooling too much

JP31
Community Member

Good morning,

I installed my nest yesterday and it is cooling my house too much. I have 3 nests, one on each floor. With my old thermostats I never had this problem. But for example my nests were set on 76, 73, 68 on the 1st to third floor throughout the night and almost all of my floors were around 62 degrees when I woke up. The temperature outside isn’t a factor. Also I tried to turn all my Nests off this morning but I heard the AC still running.

Hi JP31,

Thanks for reaching out. I'd like to know more about it. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? In what country are you located? Also, do you see any messages or codes on your thermostat or in the app? Please provide your thermostat's power readout. Check your thermostat's Energy History, as it might help you to see what your system is doing previously.

Follow the guide below to check your thermostat's power readings:

Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Look for Technical Info.
  4. Select Power.

Nest Thermostat 2020:

  1. Open the Google Home app and then tap the thermostat and then tap Settings .
  2. Select the Device Information.
  3. Choose Technical Information.

Best,

Jenelyn
