Do you know the model of your A/C unit? Is it a heat pump?

Some brands of heat pumps require different settings on the Nest thermostat or Nest E thermostat. Check here for instructions. Troubleshoot heat pump issues - Google Nest Help

Sounds like you have a heat pump. The O/B wire is what controls the direction of the reversing valve. If you have it set for O (which is more common) and it blows hot air then you likely need to try switching it to B. You need to tell us what equipment (both the indoor and outdoor unit part numbers) you have to get a better answer.

Bww129 is correct. Sounds like you do have a heat pump system you need to switch over the O/B option under settings in nest. Most systems use O but some use B go into your heat set up setting and check to see what your set to O or B & set it up as forced air heat pump. If you try & turn on the heat do you get cool air? If yes then definitely make the switch on O/B Option. Good luck.

Hello folks,

I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

Thanks to everyone for their input here: @HVAC, @bww129, and @FuncleBob.

@Rakisha23, I know it has been a while, but have you managed to check your HVAC system's details? Please let us know more so we can move forward. Also, it would be best if you could share with us a photo of your old thermostat and the Nest Thermostat's wiring so we can determine its configuration.

Regards,
Mark
