Nest learning thermostat 3rd Gen

My Nest Learning thermostat goes dark & can’t get display to turn on. It does this throughout the day. I’m unable to adjust the temperature on it. Anyone experience this?

Thank you so much for posting in this community. I’m sorry to hear that the display of your Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen) is not turning on, which is preventing you from controlling your home's temperature. It’s a pleasure to help.

I'd appreciate your help answering the following questions to determine an optimal resolution.

  • When did the issue first occur?
  • Is the thermostat's display seated properly?
  • Are all the wires of your thermostat seated firmly in its terminals (with no loose or exposed wires)?
  • Have you tried charging your thermostat by connecting it to a micro USB port? If so, how long? To learn more, refer to this article: Nest thermostat USB port.
