Nest learning thermostat and sensor

We had a new Bryant AC put in about 3 years ago.  At the time we decided to also replace our Honeywell thermostat and sensor with the Nest learning thermostat.  What a mistake!!  Since the thermostat is upstairs and we are downstairs 90%of the time we rely on using the sensor.  In order to know what the temperature is, you must check it on the app.  Honeywell sensor fid plays the tempurature.  Honeywell 1, Nest 0.  If we had kept score from day 1, Honeywell would have blown Nest out of the water!!

Over the past 3 years we have had tiny aggrevations with the Nest equipment and most the time get it fixed.

Tonight however we are ready to chuck the Nest and go back to Honeywell.

The problem this time is the sensor is offline.  I've tried EVERYTHING.  Uninstall, reinstall. Reset the wifi, pull the battery from sensor, etc. NOTHING WORKS!!  After screwing with it for a couple hours we said screw it!!  We will deal with it tomorrow!!  Anyone else having issues like this with their Nest product??

Hi Shooter1951,

Thanks for posting in the community! Sorry to hear about this situation of your Nest Temperature Sensor being offline.  No worries, help is here! Also, I'd like to thank you for the troubleshooting steps that you tried. Let's try some other steps:

  1. Reset the network settings of the thermostat, go to Settings > Reset > Network. If Network isn't available, select Account connection instead.
  2. Reconnect the thermostat to the network. If you reset the thermostat's Account connection, also reconnect the thermostat to the account.
  3. Perform a full reset, remove the battery from the sensor for 5 minutes and then put it back.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Axel.

Axel,

Thank you for your response.  I did get it reconnected.
