I have a nest learning thermostat, which I installed in December (approximately 3 months ago), that has stopped working. It has a flashing red light (28 short flashes followed by a longer flash). A google search tells me it needs to be charged, and I can charge via USB. After pulling the unit off the base to charge, and verifying the wiring, I put it back on the base when it gave the display saying to do so, only to get a message saying it needs to shut down to charge. It shuts down, and goes back to the flashing red light. It’s been doing this for two weeks now. (I have a C wire, and it is connected.)
