Nest learning thermostat not holding any charge, cannot turn on.

Have owned a Nest for just over a year. Suddenly goes off. Base Wiring has power, and wired correctly (checked by certified electrician). Tried to charge with usb, left it for several hours. When advised to place nest back in base, did so, but immediately got message saying ‘your thermostat needs to shut down in order to recharge battery’ and then thermostat shuts down. Have tried to manually charge several times leaving it in usb for several hours but get same message every time I reattach to base and it shuts down. Cannot access any function of nest because of this message and automatic function and heating now comes on randomly. What do I do? It is a till under warranty.

The warranty depends on whom installed it. If you used a Nest Pro to install you have a 3-year warranty. if you installed it yourself.p then you warranty is only 12 months.
