Nest learning thermostat screen dead

Nut5t3r

I've had a nest learning thermostat in a box for a 18 months. It was fitted by my electrician a few weeks ago. It worked fine for a couple of weeks, but the screen has now given up.

If I push the thermostat for 10 seconds it flashed an orange light at the top, then flashes green for 30 seconds. When it turns on, the screen is blank. I know its on because turning the dial makes a clicking sound.

Any suggestions of what the problem is, it how to fix it?

Thanks

Hi Nut5t3r,

Thanks for posting.

Give these steps a try:

  • Remove the Nest Thermostat's display from the base.
  • Charge the device using a USB charging cable for 1-2 hours.
  • Put it back on its base.
  • Push the display for 10 seconds and wait for the display to boot up.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Mel

Hi Mel,

I followed the instructions. It had the same effect. The thermostat is working but the screen does not come on.
