Nest not heating. Screen says will heat in 2 hours, or says heating. Not heating cold.

As of last night heater won’t come on. It says it will come on in two hours. It’s freezing in the house. We’ve had the nest for a few years and all has been well until all of a sudden it stopped working last night.

All the settings seem to be in order I am hesitant to reset the whole thing and have to re-program the entire schedule again but maybe that’s my next step?

I had a similar problem yesterday. I reset the unit and I charged the battery, still not heating. I ended up calling the heating company and I had to replace two non working parts of my furnace.  Everything works well now.
There’s nothing wrong with the nest thermostat.
