Hello, so i recently moved into a new apartment and ive tried just about everything to get this thermostat to actually be smart. I thought i fixed it when it was properly working one night, then i get home from work today (in HOT texas weather) and it reads 80 degrees just like when we moved in the same issue arose. Could someone help me figure this out?

Do you have Home/Away Assist turned on? If so, the Nest will cool your home only down to the Eco temperature when it senses that you're out, to save electricity. So, yes, you may come home to a hot apartment, depending on your Eco temperature. If you turn off Home/Away Assist, the Nest should behave like an ordinary not-smart programmable thermostat, following whatever schedule you set up. Alternatively, if you want to keep using Home/Away Assist, you could set a lower Eco temperature.
