I installed a new 3rd gen learning thermostat yesterday and when I switch to cooling, it turns the fan on but not the compressor for cold air,
I have a heat pump, and have connected the wires as directed by the app. I replaced the Nest again with my old Honeywell thermostat and it’s working fine.
I’ve tried swapping the Y1 and O wires, swapping the Y1 and W2 wires, switching between O and B in the Nest settings, nothing has helped. Anything else I should try?

Any advice? I think I’m just going to return the Nest if I can’t figure this out, seems like a hassle unfortunately.

Jfar, I am having the same issue. My fan will kick on with cooling or fan mode but the cool air will not initiate. Frustrating because the wiring matches as stated

So frustrating.. hope you get yours figured out. I’ve tried a bunch of things but nothing has worked, I put my old one back on and it’s works great. I’ll probably return the nest tomorrow

That’s what I’m doing… I don’t have patience for no cool air
