Nest randomly stopped connecting sensor

My nest app showed my one sensor was no longer connected. I never got a low battery alert. I removed it from thermostat and tried to repair it but I keep getting an error while trying to pair. But it does show in the app now but shows “32 degrees” and won’t change. Temp is wrong it’s not 32 it’s in our bedroom which runs 70 degrees. Now what?

Hi Steamboat927,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. I'd love to help.

You can follow the steps below to resolve general issues with the Nest Temperature Sensor:

  1. Restart your Nest Thermostat.
  2. Remove the battery from your sensor for at least 30 seconds, then put it back.
  3. To reset the network settings of your thermostat, go to Settings > Reset > Network. If the network isn't available, select Account connection instead.
  4. Reconnect your thermostat to the network. If you reset your thermostat's Account connection, also reconnect your thermostat to your account.
  5. Run a connection test.
    1. On the Nest app, go to Settings > Nest Temperature Sensors > Affected Sensor > Check Connection.
    2. Move the Nest Temperature Sensor close to your thermostat, anywhere from 1 to 3 feet.
  6. To perform a full reset, remove the battery from your sensor for 5 minutes and then put it back.
  7. Unpair and pair the sensor back to the account.
  8. After that, monitor it if the issue persists.

Best,

Jenelyn
