Plumber came out and confirmed power supply fine but receiver (and therefore thermostat) completely dead. Suggested posting on here as there are apparently lots of issues with them. No idea when purchased as came with the house so purchased by previous owner

Not being able to use your thermostat due to it not powering on is certainly not what you expect. Let's see what's going on.
What type of thermostat do you have? It would be great to know if you're located in Europe as well. The Nest thermostat from the US doesn't work with the same setup and power specifications as the ones in Europe, so I'd appreciate any more information.
When did this problem start? Were there any blackouts or power surges in your area recently? Have you or the plumber who checked your thermostat done any troubleshooting already? If so, please let me know.

Hey, thank you angel,
There were no power outtages
location is United Kingdom
plumber confirmed that the power supplying the reciever is still fine. The thermostat has no power as the power for this is coming from the reciever (I assume thats what its called, the white nest box) which is completely broken (no lights, no output, nothing, for both reciever and thermostat)
It’s gen 3
it went about 3 weeks ago
plumber confirmed that everything else is operating fine however the best reciever is completely broken/unresponsive
