I had an easy start added to my a/c due to installing solar batteries for backup. Since installing the soft starter, my runtime has nearly doubled. HVAC tech inspected the system and found everything with the a/c unit is working properly. Why did this happen?
Thank you,

Warmer weather? Changes to the building envelop? Trees taken down? Condenser or Evaporator blocked? Easy start or a soft start device should have zero (noticeable) impact on the run time for the A/C.

Thank you for your reply. I had tried all of those solutions , plus a couple other options that may have caused the problem. A/C tech said it had to be something else, not brand new part. The issue appeared after installing soft start, but checking before just jumping at a new soft start that you would think would not be defective. Took the soft start out. Unit is back to normal operation. Defective soft start. Thank you for your input.
