My nest 3rd gen. Learning thermostat is in my addition and for about 2 hours in the afternoon it gets direct sunlight through the skylight and gives false readings. The nest is hooked to a ptac unit woks great other wise. The sun block feature though never activats and says the room is 84 whiles it’s really about 78. I’ve turn it off restart the nest and then turned feature back on. Still nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

thanks

Hi Knightfal,

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation.

A few questions: Is your Nest Learning Thermostat near a heat source? And, do you have a thermometer? If you have, take a photo of the thermometer next to the Nest Learning Thermostat. Both the thermometer and thermostat screens should be visible in the photo and show the difference in each other’s readouts.

Also, disconnect the thermostat from the Wi-Fi network for 24 hours to monitor the ambient temperature, and contact support afterward. To disconnect the thermostat from the network, go to Settings, then look for Reset, then select Account Connection

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
