Nest thermastat adding a phone number

When I leave the house with my phone our heating turns down as per the settings. I want to add my sons phone number so if he is at home with his phone the heating stays on. Anyone know how I do this please.

Thanks for reaching out — I'm sorry for the delay.

You can invite him on the Google Home app as your family home member, so when he gets home your system will automatically turn on. 

Please check these guides to add a member to your home: 

1. Go to the Google Home app then select the home where your thermostat is.
2. At the top, tap add > Invite home member > Invite person.
3. Enter the  email address of the person you want to invite then tap Next.
4. The person you invite should receive an email with instructions and he needs to accept it via email or Google Home app to proceed.
