- Are you located from North America or Europe?
- What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
- What is the make and model of your HVAC system?
- How are the wires connected to your thermostat base? Could you send a photo of it?
- When was it installed?
- Do you have more than one thermostat? If there's more than one thermostat:
- Does the issue show up on the other thermostats too?
- When did the situation start?
- Is there a wiring report or message on your thermostat and/or app?
- Do you see a blinking LED light? If so, is it red or green?
- If the LED is red: Have you tried charging the display through a different outlet using the adapter and cable?
- If the LED is green: Have you tried manually restarting the thermostat?
- Has there been any recent work done on your thermostat(s) or heating system? If yes:
- What was it?
- How long was the power off for?
- Were there any power outages? If yes:
- When was the latest power outage?
- How long did it last?
- Has the thermostat been off since then?
- Were there any modifications to the internet configuration (for example: added extenders)?
- What are the power readings in Settings > Technical Info > Power (For Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E) and Settings > Equipment > Power Info (For Nest Thermostat 2020).
- Is the thermostat display responsive when interacting with it?
- What troubleshooting steps have you done?
