I have 2 Google Nest thermostats (different locations) which I would like to control from Google Nest Home app, one is 1st Gen Google nest thermostat and the second is 2nd Gen E thermostat. The 1st Gen works fine in Google Nest Home (have schedule access) the 2nd Gen also seems fine except there is no schedule option, I have to use Google Nest app for that function. Am I missing something or is this how the different versions of Google thermostats work?

@Sierreone, you are experiencing a well documented problem that Google is currently working on to address. The Google Home app does not have all the functionality and support for all of the nest thermostat models, and specific some of the models schedule features are not available. The only current workaround at this time is to continue using the Nest app and the Google Home app.
I am currently at the product expert summit 2024 in Austin, Texas and I was addressing this with the product manager today and at this time they don’t have a timeline, although they are working to improve Google Home app. Please keep in mind that the Google Nest app had about 10 years of development for features and capabilities, and the Google Home app is only about two years old on it’s ability to support thermostats. Luckily, it won’t take 10 years to catch up with the Google Home app however it will not likely be solved in the next 12 months.

Ok, thanks for getting back to me. Is there any way I could check or be informed when this issue gets resolved

@Sierreone , just keep in mind that as you get notifications from your smart phone operating system that an app needs to be updated. Just check the features of the update to see if in fact some features are added.
