Nest thermostat as a weather station

Dear community.

I just changed my HVAC system and unfortunately I was asked to replaced my Google Nest Thermostat for the one provided by the manufacturer which doesn't communicate with my google nest thermostat sensors that I have around my home. The question is: Can I power up my Google Nest Thermostat and connected to my network as an internal temperature tracker around my home connected to all the nest thermostat sensor without being connected to the HVAC system?

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let's sort this out.  
 

Only the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation and the Nest Thermostat E are the Nest Thermostats that work with our Nest Temperature Sensors. Also, The Nest Thermostats won't work if not for the thermostat wires connected to them, so disconnecting them from the HVAC system will make them useless.
