I know people have posted about this before but it is clearly a much-requested feature so I thought I'd start a new thread to hopefully appeal to the Nest team anew to take this seriously. Many people would like more control of their thermostats as the 'one size fits all' approach doesn't always work, and with smart home setups becoming increasingly complex many of us would like to be able to tweak our systems here and there so they behave exactly as we would like for our homes. Here's my situation:
I have a large house with multiple zones and both Nest thermostats as well as the Honeywell Evohome system. I have a variable rate tariff as well as solar, and electric heating (heat pump). I occasionally find myself in the situation where I would like to boost the temperature in a zone *for a limited time* (either to divert excess solar into heat in a particular zone, or heat part of the house while our electricity is cheap, but not beyond that point). I don't want to have to reprogram the whole schedule, just press a button that will boost the temperature in that zone by half an hour or so, then return to its preset schedule. On the Honeywell system this is easy and very intuitive. I set what temperature I want the heating boosted to, and the time when this boost will end. On the Nest I have to manually set the temperature higher, create an alarm for half an hour (or however long) so I don't forget to turn it down, then when the alarm goes off, go back into the Nest app and manually turn the temperature down. This is ridiculous! Please, please, *please* can someone at Nest just program a simple boost function with 2 variables: 1) boost temperature 2) amount of time of boost. It would make me very happy. Thank you!

Hey Docharty,
We appreciate your interest however, we don't have any news to share about Nest thermostat boost function. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback.
I also suggest that you send feedback by following this link. Let me know if you have other questions or concerns, otherwise I’ll be locking this thread after 24 hours.
Best,
Mel
