Nest thermostat calibration

SteveY
Community Member

My nest thermostat consistently runs 7 to 8° different from a thermometer. I keep in the room. It worked fine and the air conditioning mode. But now that I've gone to heat, it's 7:00 to 8° over what I've been set to. Example, the room is now sitting it 73° and the thermostat is set to 74 degrees. Is there any way to calibrate the thermostat to get it closer.?

That should have been. The thermostat is set to 64°. Not 74°.

Hi SteveY,

Thanks for bringing this up here in the Google Nest community. This doesn't happen normally, but let's look deeper into it. The Nest Thermostat follows an algorhyme as part of its learning program. We'll try to clear it out and monitor the case. Follow the steps below:

Sign in to the Nest app.

  1. If you have another home, on the app home screen, tap Menu . Then select the home that has the product you'd like to remove.
  2. On the app home screen, tap Settings Nest settings icon.
  3. Tap the product you'd like to remove.
  4. Scroll down and select Remove [product name].
  5. You'll then be asked to confirm your choice.
  6. On your Nest Learning Thermostat display, go to Settings Nest settings icon and then Reset
  7. Then select All Settings.

Once done, pair it back to your Nest app and put your thermometer beside it.

Monitor it if the issue persists.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Renz
