Nest thermostat- comes on when not scheduled

Hi. Given as we are finally having summer, I have cleared the schedule for Nest so it should not come on at all. Randomly today I woke up and the heating was on.  Unscheduled! It’s over 17 degrees here. Previously I had it set to come on if temps fell to 12 degrees so nowhere near.

I have looked at the history log and it appears it came on on ten days ago for 30 mins.  Again without being set to come on.

It a complete waste of money  and I am worried as to how often this happens.

please any advice welcomed 🙏🏽

Hello Sandie_Nest,

I understand the frustration of the temperature changing randomly with your Nest Thermostat in the past few days. Let's sort this out.

Please make sure to turn off the Auto-schedule in the Nest Sense settings or in the Nest app. Check the Home and Away Assist as well and disable it. Also, if you have the Google Home app, open the app, go to the Routines section, and look for any thermostat actions available and remove them.

Once you're done checking all the settings above, restart the thermostat to refresh, and let me know if that helped.

Regards,
Mark

Hey there,

I don't want to be a nudge, but I'd like to check if you were able to get your thermostat working. Feel free to reach back if you still need help.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark - so sorry ! I meant to come back to you. It’s kind of you to help.

I switched the thermostat off in the app and since then have tampered with the home/away settings. It seems okay so far !

thank you for checking up. If there’s any further issues I’ll double check your message and see if I need to take further action.

best wishes
