Can this old heating thermostat be wired to any of the nest ones ?

If so which one is recommended?

  •  I've 5 heating zones and 2 AC zones in my new home I just bought.
  • All of the thermostats are outdated old ones.
  • Please help

The wire you have only has 2 conductors, the Nest works best with a C wire to keep the battery powered up.

If you can run new wire to each thermostat with 5 wires in the cable would be the best solution to have C wire to each thermostat.

They do make a C wire adapter device but I would run new wires if it is possible. Some houses it is not possible to pull new wires if they stapled them inside the wall to the studs.

Thank you so much.

How about for the AC.

From your HVAC control board, check which wires are available and check the compatibility here: https://store.google.com/us/category/nest_thermostats?hl=en-US#thermostat_compatibility

Do you have 5 separate thermostats for the heat, and 2 thermostats for the a/c systems?

What kind of heating system is this?

Hot water boiler with radiators or baseboard heat?

It's hot water boiler with baseboard heat.

It's 5 zones ,2 upstairs, two on the first floor and one zone in the basement.

Each zone has a separate thermostat.

If you have zone valves on the system then you might have problems using Nest on the heating unless you install C wire to each thermostat.

Do you have pics of the heating system showing where all the zone wires connect to see if you have a Common terminal.
