Nest thermostat e stuck at first screen

Hi all, 

I have two thermostat e's, one works perfectly the other I have had for under two weeks.

In that time it has consistently disconnected repeatedly off WiFi (it's under a metre from the hub). I have tried everything stated by the help site and decided to reset it tonight.

It is now stuck at the start up screen showing the picture of the phone, a house and a download symbol - it's not moving past this point can anyone help I'm panicking a bit as it's not been great from day one brand out of the box

Hey Robv, 

Sorry to hear about your experience with your Nest thermostat but thanks for posting and for providing these details. 

It seems that your thermostat is stuck and you need to manually restart it by following the steps below:

1. Press your thermostat ring and hold it down until the screen turns off (about 10 seconds).  Let go of the ring.
2. Press and release the ring to turn it back on and complete the restart process. The Nest logo will appear when it begins to start up. The screen will turn on as it finishes.

Try going through the setup process again and let me know how it goes.

I have the same issue, but whenever I turn it off and back on, it just goes straight back to that same picture and nothing I can do to get up any other menu.
