Nest thermostat keeps rebooting then shutting heat off

Hi,

My Nest thermostat keeps rebooting (I’m assuming that’s what it’s doing) and then once reboots, the heat turns off.  I’m not sure what’s going on?

Hello jgharris,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're facing with your Nest Thermostat. There could be several reasons why your thermostat is rebooting and causing the heat to turn off. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Ensure that your thermostat is receiving a stable power supply. Check the wiring to make sure there are no loose connections.
  2. An unstable or lost Wi-Fi connection can cause the thermostat to reboot. Make sure your thermostat is connected to Wi-Fi, and if the connection is weak, consider repositioning your router or using a Wi-Fi extender.
  3. Ensure that your Nest Thermostat is running the latest software. Sometimes, a software glitch could be the cause, and updating it might resolve the issue.
  4. Inspect for any wiring reports and gather the power readouts to determine any power-related issues.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Mark
