Nest thermostat not connecting to WiFi

Garrett pre-maturely closed this discussion. Folks are having a hard time keeping their thermostats connected to wifi. After resetting everything it appears to connect only to fail again and not connect. This is where I'm at now. No connection Garrett!! This is not solved by any means! You see I got the nest thermostat so I could monitor and adjust my thermostat when away from my house. Well when I'm across the country for work and you tell me just adjust it manually or reset it AGAIN. It is meaningless because I wouldn't need a WiFi connected thermostat is I was always home!! The point is, these things fail to connect and there is no solution!

I am having the same issue.  I bought the expensive model to be sure I could see how my condo in Florida is cooling.  It is not connected to wifi and I am not there to manually reset it.  This is not a great solution.  I have cameras and TiVo on the Wifi that are not having troubles.  Please help

Same issues Julian. I even had a neighbor go in my house while I was away and reset the t-stat according to nest recommendations and one day later, no Wi-Fi connection again! The strange thing is it worked seemlessly for almost two years then this. Folks all over the country having the same exact problem and you can't tell me they can't tell what it is. Just starts happening? C'mon are we that gullible?

Like you I have other devices on that have stayed connected. Door bell cameras, locks, lamps, sprinkler system... My router is on a UPS and everything made it through a 12 hour power outage from the electric company. But then one day the t-stat stops connecting. C'mon nest engineers get off your keister's and fix this issue!! Julian you may be on to something with the software updates! Or they are just trying to force us to buy new models!!

So sorry for the late response everyone! Sorry to hear about your issues with the connection, I understand it's frustrating but I'm happy to look into this for you. 

I apologize that you feel it was close prematurely, we close threads if there are no activity on them, so since there was none for a week, it was closed. 

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Well I never received the case number someone said they were going to send so I never called when home. I reset it again using the wall mount device and currently still have connection. However I am out on the road so if it goes out I will have no way to reset until returning home. I'm hoping it lasts this time and I don't have to go down the road of trying to reconfigure my router settings. I don't know why you guys can't come up with a fix rather than directing folks to reset their routers for your device when all others operate just fine?
