My Nest thermostat has been running fine for over 2 months since I got it. Then just this week I have been having trouble getting it to stay connected to the wifi. I tried the usual troubleshooting steps, as well as the step by step troubleshooter on the nest website, with no fix. I have factory reset the unit, as well as removed it from my nest app, hoping to start from square one.
I can not get it to connect when trying to set it up through the Nest app, just gives me an error message, then tells me to reset it again.
Then tried to connect it to the wifi through the thermostat alone. It can see WiFi SSID just fine, but after entering the password it fails to connect.
Every other wifi connected device in the household works just fine, and the router is less than 20 feet away and in direct line of sight, so it is not a signal strength, or ISP issue.
Extremely frustrating to spend this kind of money on a piece of equipment and end up having be a huge hassle just to get it to work properly.

Hello!
Thank you for your replies. I did manage to get it working. Had to create a separate wifi SSID and reconnect it to that. Not sure if it was having trouble with the original SSID being named the same for both the 2.4 & 5 GHz WiFi.
Regardless, it is working properly now, and has not been an issue since this fix.
Thank you.
