Nest thermostat off but furnace fan won't stop running

Fan won't turn off unless I turn power off at the breaker. Nest thermostat is off but the fan has been running constantly for a couple of weeks. Before that it seemed to be working fine. I've seen lots of posts and questions about this but no solutions aside from uninstalling the best and going back to the old thermostat. I'm definitely leaning that way but hoping someone has an answer.

Hi Nina2023,

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. I want to check if you are still in need of any help. If so, remove the thermostat display from the base and wait about five minutes, then observe if the fan will continuously run or stop after removing the thermostat display.

Let us know how it goes.

Only turning the main power breaker off made it stop. I ended up disconnecting the nest and reinstalling our old thermostat and it all seems fine now so I'm guessing it's a problem with the nest.

I have the same problem fan in the middle of the night comes on for 15-30 seconds then turns off. The fan will stay off for 10 seconds and do that again. I can only get the fan to stop after I turn the power off to the furnace. Even with no power to the nest the fan still runs.

Mine was running constantly. I'm not sure if it started with sporadic running. Our power bill was getting crazy so I switched back to our old school thermostat and problem stopped. Good luck!
