3RD GEN Thermostat won’t stay connected to Wi-Fi

I replaced an earlier gen thermostat with G’s 3rd Gen Learning Thermostat.  After 45 days it no longer connects to Wi-Fi.  I’ve tried everything including factory resets.  Nothing works.  App days it can’t find a Wi-Fi network.  All other devises in the room and home are working fine.  There is no issue with the Wi-Fi network and Apps are all up to date.  Suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi RSCOTT168,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We're sorry for any trouble this may have caused you. Let's check this out. Since you’ve done a couple of troubleshooting steps already, I just want to ask if you’re getting any kind of error message or error code on the Nest Thermostat display.

I understand that the app and Wi-Fi are up-to-date but if you’re still unable to connect with your Wi-Fi, Try the steps below:

  1. Check for any iOS updates.
  2. Uninstall the Nest app.
  3. Restart your phone and reinstall the Nest app.
  4. Go to Nest Learning Thermostat settings.
  5. Select Reset.
  6. Select All settings.
  7. Restart your router
  8. And, Try to connect again to your Wi-Fi.

These steps are designed to refresh all components involved in connecting the device to your Wi-Fi. If it doesn’t work, try to use another phone or check if a personal hotspot can be detected by the Nest Thermostat.

Let me know how it goes. I look forward to your response.

Best,

Renz
