Old Honeywell thermostat to Nest

honey2nest
Community Member

Hello,

I use Honeywell CT3200A1001 which may include hot water boiler function.

The wires used are W, Y, G and R only but there are some switches for options.

I am not sure this thermostat linked with hot water boiler system.

Can I replace olds one to Nest?

Hello honey2nest,

Thanks for posting in the Community. I’d be happy to help you with the Nest thermostat.

To determine if your HVAC system is compatible with Nest thermostats, I need the following information:

Once I have this information, I can check to see if your system is supported.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Lance

Hi folks,

@honey2nest, thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats. Fortunately, your thermostat wires are compatible only with our Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation or Nest Thermostat E and should be wired to their bases as follows:

  • W wire to W or W1
  • Y wire to Y or Y1
  • G wire to G
  • Red wire to R or RC/RH

Also, here's a guide for the installation and setup of a Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation and Nest Thermostat E

Let us know if you have any other questions.

I appreciate your help, Lance.

Regards,

Zoe
