Nest thermostat pairing problems

StephenPolley

Thanks for the information and advice in my previous post.

Dealing firstly with the thermostat locations - all 3 of them are within 10m or so from the heat links. The 3 Heat links  are situated in my garage adjacent to the boiler, but more than 30cm away from it.

I worked through the process for the office thermostat which wasn’t pairing properly and I did get it to successfully pair with the Heat Link for about 12 hours but at a cost of one of the other thermostats going offline (unfortunately my main one which also controls the hot water) and when I re-paired it, the office one went off line again. It remains offline.

Going back to the original situation, the 3 thermostats will work together when the office thermostat is sited away from the office, so it appears that the system will support all 3, but not when the office thermostat is located there. Obviously I need the office one to work in that location, so do I try to move the heat link to the office?  It can be done but obviously there’s a cost to that and I don’t know if moving the heat link is going to cure the problem?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi there @StephenPolley! I just wanted to check if this situation is related to your other post where we are discussing connectivity or is there something else going on.

The issues are all related with one particular zone not staying online. Periodically after doing a full reset it might stay stable for some hours coming online and going off again until eventually it just stays offline. I also noticed that when doing  a full reset on this zone, another zone  can go offline. Very frustrating and I don’t know what to do.

Thanks for letting me know. Is it okay if I contact you via the email you have on the community?

Yes I think email exchange would be simpler for me. Thanks.

Hi, I just reached out over email. When you have time, go through it and let me know once you complete it so I know to go check.

Just to make sure I got things correctly, as I went over the other thread as well. You have 3 devices but one of them will not work from a certain location where you want to have it, disconnecting from the Heat Link when you move it to that particular location but working from some other ones, correct?

Also, to check, when you did manage to pair that thermostat, did it force one of the other thermostats to disconnect from the Heat Link? Or did you disconnect that thermostat and then the other one paired?
