Nest thermostat reading much too high temp.

Hello,

I have two questions:

1. Our Nest thermostat has been working fine for the past few months since we got it, but yesterday it registered the temperature anywhere between 90 - 106 degrees inside the house, so we are unable to turn the heat on.  It it currently probably below 50 degrees upstairs but still registering extremely high temps.  We have taken Nest off the wall, we have reset it while connected, and still no luck.

Any suggestions on who to call to fix this?  Or how to fix it?

2. We set up the Nest app with my husband's phone and he invited me to join the same Google home account.  While  the two thermostats are displayed on my phone, both are showing "offline" and I have no way to control the temp. from my phone. I either need to move the device manually or call my husband to have him control the temp. from his phone.  Suggestions on how to fix this?

Hi Laurak1,

Thank you for reaching out. I understand that your Google Nest thermostat is displaying high temperatures, and I'm happy to assist you. Before we proceed, I need to ask a few questions to better understand the situation:

  • "What type of Nest thermostat do you have?"

  • "What other unusual symptoms have you experienced since the problem started?"

  • "Are there any error messages? If so, what are they?"

  • "Is this a new installation?"

  • Could you please send me a picture of your wire labels?

I will await your response.

Regards,

Manuel
