Nest thermostat stuck on h71

My Thermostat has been running for a year without issues it sits on stand , yesterday the maintenance symbol appeared and as soon as I touched the screen the H71 error message appeared. I have tried the following actions:-

1) Reset the heatlink for 10 secs and tried to reconnect - after long search still back on H71

2) Moved the Thermostat to power socket right in front of boiler - still does not find

3) Tried resetting thermostat by pressing for fews seconds until it rebooted - initially went to home screen but then back on h71

Thank you, steps 1 and 2 were enough as well as resetting the thermostat by holding it down until it rebooted, the extra time waiting for the blue light to flash was key as well as temporarily switching off by broadband router. The thermostat now linked back ok and avoided having to do steps 3 to 6.

Hey @bonbon35,

Good job with the troubleshooting steps. Instead of 10 seconds, try holding the button for 30 seconds. You should always have a blue light while trying to reconnect them. Here are some extra steps:

1. Bring the display and base closer to the Heat Link and make sure the boiler is not in between the Heat Link and thermostat - only if possible.
2. Turn off the router and other WiFi or Bluetooth devices ( router, speakers, cordless phones, baby monitor, etc. ).
3. Select Replace Heat Link.
4. Enter the entry key ( do not confirm it yet ) — you can find it at the bottom side of the Heat Link, near the screw.
5. Restart the Heat Link twice by pressing on the Nest button for 30 seconds each time.
6. Confirm entry key.

That's great. I'm glad to hear it worked. I'm going to close this thread. If anything comes up, feel free to open a new one.
