Nest thermostat won’t connect

brand new thermostat out of the box that you guys sent me will not connect to Wi-Fi

Here are a few quick things to try:

  1. Check your Wi-Fi network – Make sure it’s a 2.4GHz network (most smart thermostats don’t support 5GHz).

  2. Restart your router and thermostat – Unplug your router for about 30 seconds, then power it back on. Remove the thermostat from its base for a minute, then reattach it.

  3. Re-enter the Wi-Fi info manually – Double-check the password and SSID (network name) for any typos or spaces.

  4. Move closer to the router – If possible, temporarily bring the thermostat closer to your router during setup.

  5. Check for firmware updates – If the app shows an update prompt, install it before retrying Wi-Fi setup.
