Nest thermostat

PatrickMyers

I have two traditional thermostats in my house.  I went to replace the first one and after installation of the first, my fan to my HVAC system ran continuously and blew only cold air.  I stopped at this point and reinstalled my old thermostat.  Should I have continued with install of the 2nd or was this a sign that something is not compatible or working improperly?

Hey PatrickMyers,

Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry for the delay.

We could check a few things to further isolate the issue on why your system is continuously blowing only cold air.

  • Check if you have selected the right heat type and source from the settings > equipment.
  • Make sure that all of the wires are properly seated on the terminal.

Also, take a photo of your current wiring configuration so that we could have a better view of what's going on.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Best regards,

Ryan
