Nest thermostat

Switching to a Nest Thermostat was the WORSE decision. The thermostat does not work, you can't get any assistance because none of the phone numbers online are working, and it's 96° outside and my house is 82°. I thought my air conditioning unit was broken, so I paid $189 for someone to come out and check it. It turns out this thermostat is the problem and I have no clue how to reach anyone.

Hello Tishia4401,

I'm sorry you have to experience this, and we hope you can have a better time. For your benefit, we'd like to investigate this further and try to make things right.

Could you please give us more details about what happened? What Nest Thermostat is this? Also, what's the HVAC technician's diagnosis?

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark!

The HVAC technician said there is nothing wrong with the AC. However, when I set the temperature on the Nest Thermostat, the temperature changes from 73° to 76° causing the AC to go off.  Also, I tried to use the nest on my phone, but somehow it's showing that I'm logged off and unable to log back in.  I've tried several times to log into the Nest app. from my cell phone to see if I can change the temperature and I am unsuccessful. I keep receiving a message stating I will receive an email with a link to reset my password, but I never received the emails

Hi Tishia4401,

I'm sorry you've lost access to your Nest app. You might have been logged in on a different account, or try selecting "Sign in with Nest" and "Sign in with Google". Also, you can try checking these on your actual thermostat:

  1. Go to its Settings > Nest Sense > Auto-schedule. Turn off both the heat and cool options.
  2. Go back to the main Settings > Home and Away Assist > Disable.
  3. Once done, go to Reset Settings > Schedule > Reset or Clear All Schedule.

These settings trigger your thermostat to change the temperature randomly. Disabling them helps you hold your desired temperature unless you change it manually. Let us know how it goes.
