Nest v1 added but not responding on Alexa

I just reset my nest thermostat version one to factory settings. I am able to see and control it from the Nest app. Alexa seems to add the device and a skill automatically. But when I try to operate the thermostat with Alexa, it tells me the device is not responding.

Thanks for reaching out to our Nest Community. I apologize for all the inconvenience with controlling your thermostat with Alexa. Don't worry; I'm here to help you. 

 

This is certainly not normal behavior between your device and your thermostat.In order to help you properly, could you tell me if you checked that your Alexa and thermostat are connected to the same Wi-Fi network? 

It would also be helpful if you could confirm if you have tried a reset on your Alexa device. In addition to this, could you tell me if both devices are completely updated?
