Why is it when we have it on heat the AC runs but we can turn it on emergency heat and get the heat to come on we do have Electric forced air with a heat pump checked the wiring in the furnace and everything looks to be hooked up it worked prior to changing it to the nest thermostat any ideas would be appreciated.
We have the same issue, our AC unit is outside, and our heater is in the attic, when I turn the heater on the AC unit comes on, it never did that with our old thermostat. We also can't get the heater to shut off unless we turn the AC on.
