When I adjust my thermostat to 68° The screen reads “68° in 2+ hours.” Why the heck would it take TWI hours to heat from 55° to 68°? It’s been well over two hours already, and it’s only at 57 now. I hate this app. We bought the house and Nest was already installed but I can’t wait to get rid of it

I just installed a nest and at first found things confusing but I played with it and figured it out rather easily and I'm not savvy with technology. If you open the app and adjust the temperature there is also a time schedule directly beneath where you adjust the temp. You must move the time in order to change the current setting and that will fix it temporarily. Once that is done then find where you set up your house schedule in the app so it will keep you comfortable while also keeping your house energy efficient. Takes some time to get used to but once done I've found it to be a very useful device. Good luck

Hello folks,
I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.
@Danadane25, Thanks for posting to this thread about what you've done to have this concern fixed. If there's anything I can help you with, please let me know.
@MCR426, This time-to-temperature display shows how long it would take to reach your target temperature. It appears that your system is struggling to reach it. A power-related concern could be the reason for this. To isolate:
I'll look forward to your response.

Hi there Mark, I have a similar problem that I had a brand new Nest installed in September '22 and although it could be said it's working it really is ridiculously slow at 1° rise per hour so from 15° - 22°c it would take seven hours ! My old Salus Smart stat was in the same position ( although wireless ) and worked fine. I've had a heating engineer check my boiler ( Furnace U.S ) and all is fine. Unfortunately he is not a fault finder on Nest Thermostats. There are plenty of installers around here for Nests but to date have not found any one qualified on problems. I did not fit it myself so my question is concerning the 'C' wire. Would the stat be working at all if say the wire was not connected and how would I identify at the Thermostat end and the control box end next to the boiler where the 'C' wire should go ?

Hello Nomates,
Thanks for posting on this thread and for letting me know what you're experiencing. It's most likely a power-related concern as well; could you help me check your thermostat's power readouts? Also, let me know what type of Nest Thermostat you have. You can follow the last 2 bullets above on how to check the power status, and I'll look forward to your response.
Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark, Thanks for your reply. It's a 3rd generation Nest only purchased last September. The two bullets you mentioned on Power Supply I cannot but it is installed on the wall in the entry way (The Hallway) in the same position as the previous more efficient Smart Salus which had to be replaced due to a software fault. It is wired the to the heat link adjacent to the Boiler ( Furnace U.S. )

Hi there @Nomates . I just wanted to check something to clarify on the thermostat. If you grab the thermostat by the display, the rotating ring, and pull it off the base, do you have multiple terminals or only 2 marked as T1/T2. If you can take a picture of the thermostat base so we can have a look.
Hi @MCR426, so you still need any assistance with your thermostat?
