Just had a new heat pump / oil furnace installed. The Honeywell T6 Pro worked correctly by switching over to oil when calling for 2 degrees or more of heat on the thermostat.
The Nest does not do this. So far the only way to get the oil furnace to function is to enable Emergency Heat in the Options. Running the option to TEST the furnace as the dual fuel option does nothing.
The wiring diagram attached is identical to how the correctly functioning new T6 was.

I spoke to Google Support about this issue and they were clueless. At this point I'll be returning it. 200 for a thermostat that does not do what a 50.00 thermostat does do is pathetic. Google bought Nest to collect more data on us and not to innovate.

Hi Jake. Thanks for the reply. I returned the thermostat and went with a smart honeywell.

Hey there,
With you no longer having the device, we are not able to troubleshoot the issue further. With that being the case, I am going to go ahead and lock the thread at this time. If you have have any questions from here, please feel free to create a new post.
