New user to Nest- inherited the thermostat

I bought my house a month ago and it already had a 1st gen Nest Learning thermostat installed. The owner moved the account into my name and email. I have linked it to my WiFi and downloaded the Nest app. I cannot "add product" on the app and use my phone to control it because I cannot get the "key". When I go to settings>Nest App> it just says "connected" and there is no key listed or other choice.

Also, I clicked on Nest Pro ID to see what it was. I can't get out of the menu without putting something in. Help!

Anyone else have issues similar?

You are saying the owner moved the access into yours. Did you receive an invitation from your email? Some kind of notification saying you are the owner of this thermostat?
