Newly installed Nest tripping breakets

Just installed a 3rd gen Nest thermostat into a 2 year old townhome. A few minutes after installation it tripped the downstairs breaker (assuming the one the ac unit is on) and continues to trip it. Wired according to the app, Nest worked perfectly in previous apartment and does run the AC from the few minutes it was on.

Hello Pizzalatte,

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble with your Nest Thermostat installation. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

It sounds like there might be an electrical issue or compatibility issue in the new location. It's important to ensure that the wiring is correctly configured and that there are no issues with the electrical connections. Double-check the compatibility and wiring, and if the problem persists, share with us a photo of the old thermostat and Nest Thermostat wiring setup. This would help us identify the cause and check for possible steps to make it work.

Keep me posted.

Regards,
Mark
