Next Heat Link broken

SPJ1973

Hi All,

I installed the Nest learning thermostat a couple of years ago and already required a replacement thermostat last year. The Heat Link unit (the base unit next to the boiler) has now failed, which is really disappointing as it’s not that old, and it’s already cost me the price of an engineer call out. The heating is now on 24/7 because the thermostat doesn’t work if the Heat Link unit is broken and it’s costing me a fortune!

Does anyone have experience of what I need to do as none of the help sections on the Google Nest app offer any support for a broken Nest Heat Link? I’m very grateful for any advice please.

Hi @SPJ1973,

Please check the following questions and let me know the answers:

What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
When was it installed?
Did the issue happen during installation or after installation? Was it installed by a Nest Pro or by a regular installer?
Are there any lights on the Heat Link? Does the boiler activate when calling for heat by pressing the Heat Link's button to activate Manual Mode?
Have you had any recent power cuts in your area? If yes, has the power been restored?
Have you recently had service or maintenance on your electrical, plumbing, or heating system?
Have you tried any troubleshooting steps before contacting us?
