Next step after scanning QR CODE

Nothing happens after I scan the QR code. The Nest app says I am supposed to use the Google home app and follow wiring instructions there but nothing comes up. The quick start guide says the full instructions are in the Nest app but it refers me to the Home app so it is all messed up

@Esnyder 

Do you have the most current version of the Google Nest app? The Nest Learning Thermostat gets installed in the Google Nest app and then should AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app.

I don't know if my previous reply went through - I got an Address Not Found message (which makes no sense). I figured out on my own that skipping the "automated" part of the sequence and manually entering the 6 digit code got me going. I just downloaded the app yesterday so I would hope it is the latest. All very frustrating - the quick start guide says to go to the Nest app for "full installation instructions" but that video says the instructions are in the Google Home app...which basically doesn't work. Then I find that I need another device because of old wiring and now have to wait for that. Sorry but we don't all have homes that are less than 5  years old.
