I'm not seeing a cooling option appearing on thermostat display. HVAC has previously worked without issue prior to thermostat installation.

I have the same problem.  No "cool" mode appears.  Only "heat"

Hello Folks,

I appreciate you contacting the community about your Nest Thermostat. I'm here to help!

It sounds like your Nest Thermostat might not be registering the AC wire.  To troubleshoot this, here are a few steps you can take:

  • Safety First: Always turn off the power at the breaker box before touching any thermostat wiring.
  • Consult the Wiring Diagram: Review your Nest Thermostat's wiring diagram. This diagram will show you the correct placement for each wire connected to the thermostat.
  • Verify the AC Connection: Ensure the AC wire is securely attached to the designated terminal, typically labeled "Y" or "Y1" on your Nest Thermostat.
  • Perform a Reset : If the previous steps don't resolve the issue, consider resetting your Nest Thermostat. You can access the reset function through the "Settings" menu.

If you continue to experience difficulties after completing these steps, please don't hesitate to reply with more details about your situation. We're dedicated to helping you establish a successful connection.

Best regards,

Douglas
