Hi,
I have same problem on my Nest Thermostat (T3032US). Several days ago humidity value start showing 0%. I try to power off/on HVAC system and to detach/attach display to its base. But humidity is unchanged.
Also, I suggest you to add check for this case to the firmware and do not enable humidifier (without heater at least) if it present (in my case humidifier was enabled without heater when actual humidity is about 70%).

I have a chat with google support. Device should be replaced. Support agent gives me prepaid shipping label to return device.
