We have the “flame” for heat. But no snowflake for AC. We do have a C blue wire connected.   What could be wrong?

Hello amiepollack,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

Incorrect wiring setup might be the reason for not showing the Cooling mode. Please check your thermostat's wiring and ensure that the wire in the Y/Y1 terminal is correctly inserted and the tab is pushed down. You can try reseating them to make sure they are properly connected. Also, share with us a photo of your thermostat's wiring to check how the wires are labeled.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Mark

Thank you. I looked at the wiring and we don’t have a yellow wire.  Just blue, green, red and white.

Hi there,

Gotcha! Thanks for the update and for checking it out. If you have an AC unit that is compatible with your HVAC system as a whole, you can try checking your system's control panel to see if there's a designated wire for your AC that you can use to connect to your thermostat.

Feel free to let us know if you have more questions in mind.

Regards,
Mark
