So I just set the temperature to 70 and I put it on hold, as the current temperature inside is 77. The unit kicks on and begins to cool but shuts off in about a minute or two and the cycle goes on and off every couple of minutes, not cooling anything. I just turned the thermostat off on the phone cause I don’t want to damage the compressor going on and off so frequently. What could be the problem?

It always shuts off before it gets to desired temp off. I'm constantly baby sitting this thermostat. Had ac guys out twice. It's nit the ac unit. This is my second nest that has done this. probably just need to get something that is not a nest.

Hello everyone,
Thanks for reaching out. I'd be happy to take a look at this and see why your AC short cycles.
Unexpectedly deactivating your cooling unit usually causes power-related issues. A few questions: is this a newly installed Nest thermostat? If so, could you please share with us your thermostat's wiring? Then, gather the power readouts in its Technical Info settings for the Nest Learning Thermostat or the Nest Thermostat E and Equipment settings for the Nest Thermostat 2020 model. Also, are you getting any wiring reports or message codes?
I'll look forward to your response.
Regards,
Mark
