Not recognizing durablow fireplace thermostat

Sprite34

I hooked up a durablow fireplace thermostat on my fireplace over a year ago and work fine until recently. Now I receive a response stating actually that functionality does not support the thermostat.  On Google home it use to show inactive and with the recent update it will now show the temperature but still will not allow me to change the temp. I've done all the remove, factory reset, add to both smart life and Google home with no change. I can use the smart life app and Alexa to control but not Google. Anyone else with the durablow control unit experiencing this?

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, as I can imagine it has been an inconvenience. I would love to look into this further for you. I have a great article, that I believe, will help you out. Check it out, and let me know if you have any questions. It is certainly possible that your device is no longer compatible with new changes that are made to the Google Home app. We apologize for the inconvenience if you are unable to control it how you were before.

Best regards,
Brad

Thanks Brad for responding. Just the other day it started to to work both on  Google Home voice and the app. I did nothing to fix but would like to know what was done on Googles end to make it work. I do not have auto update turned on so I know Google did something.  I'm probably asking too much and should just be thankful it's working. Regards

Hey Sprite34,

We're glad to know that it's already working. It could be a minor hiccup on the back end. Let us know if you have other questions, we're here to help.

Thanks,

Archie

When you say the backend do you mean within Google or the communication between the smart life app?  I could use the smart life app and control my fireplace. This issue was ongoing for almost 2 months. l just know this is going to happen again.

Hi Sprite34,

Backend is a part of a program or feature that typically isn't accessible for users but instead for programmers or engineers only. In this case, you may also be correct when you say between Google and Smart Life app integrations. Also, we're glad to hear that your issue is fixed. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread in 24 hours unless I can help out with anything else.

Regards,

Dan
